Ducati Recalls 2014 1199 Panigale R, 1199 Panigale S, and 1199 Superleggera for an Improperly Manufactured Rear Shock Absorber

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain model year 2014 1199 Panigale S version, 1199 Superleggera and 1199 Panigale R version motorcycles.

The affected motorcycles may have been built with an improperly manufactured rear shock absorber. The nut on the damper rod for these shock absorbers may loosen, resulting in a loss of damping and the possible disassembling of the shock.

If the damper rod nut loosens, shock absorber performance would be affected, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.

549 units are affected.
