Ivolution Sports Recalls IV2 JX-SKY Motorcycle Helmets Since Two Accessory Pieces When Mounted May Alter the Angle Of Impact and Neck Position In a Motorcycle Crash

Ivolution Sports, Inc. (Ivolution Sports) is recalling certain IV2 JX-SKY helmets, sizes S, M, L, XL manufactured February 1, 2015, to July 15, 2016.

These helmets may have two detachable plastic accessory pieces, a plastic mohawk and a face mask, that were attached with small screws. These accessory pieces may alter the angle of impact and neck position in a motorcycle crash. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."

If the accessories are attached with a rigid connection such as with screws, the rider has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

1,007 units are affected.
