Will Harley-Davidson Cut Buell?

Just saw an interesting report. Harley-Davidson's net income fell 84% in the third-quarter, 2009. Looking ahead, they are expected to discontinue production of Buell motorcycles. Read more.

Ducati Recalls 2009 1098R, 1198S and 2010 F1098 Streetfighter Motorcycles for Fuel Hose Problem

Ducati is recalling certain model year 2009 1098R and 1198S motorcycles as well as certain 2010 F1098 Streetfighter motorcycles.

The fuel hose may become disconnected from the fuel pump which could result in engine stalling and a fuel leak.

753 units are affected.

BMW Recalls 2009 K1300GT and K1300S Motorcycles for Handlebar Switch Failures

BMW is recalling certain model year 2009 K1300GT and K1300S motorcycles.

The switches on the handlebars for both the direction indicator and the emergency engine off/engine-start functions may fail.

The number of units has not been announced.

Zap Recalls 2008 Xebra Motorcycles for Brake Reservoir Deficiency

Zap is recalling certain 2008 Xebra motorcycles manufactured between January and December 2008.

These motorcycles do not conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems." They do not have a separate brake fluid reservoir for the front and rear brakes.

738 units are affected.

Triumph Recalls 2005-2009 Sprint ST for Suspension Problem

Triumph is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Sprint ST1050 motorcycles manufactured from November 4, 2004 through September 2009.

The rear suspension drag link assembly in these motorcycles can fracture due to corrosion.

2849 units are affected.

Panther Motors Recalls P150 and P50 Motorcycles (Trikes) for Parking Brake Defect

Panther Motors is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 P150 and P50 motorcycles.

(Editor's Note: This is NOT the Panther Motorcycle Company. Panther Motors makes 3-wheeled trike-like vehicles.) These motorcycles (trikes) fail to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems." The standard requires a strictly mechanical form of engagement of a motorcycle parking brake, whereas the parking brake on these motorcycles relies in part on hydraulic pressure.

434 units are affected.
