- I've been an avid motorcycle enthusiast since 1989. My wife, Jane, and I started riding motorcycles after we were 50 years old. (I lost Jane to an automobile accident August 31, 2008.) We started on a 1981 Honda CM400T. Currently, I ride a Honda Gold Wing Motor Trike conversion. I spent seven and a half years as the Motorcycles Guide on About.com. Now I'm branching out on my own. I'm still writing articles and features about motorcycles. The Motorcycle Views site presents my views on motorcycles. I'm a member of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and I've completed the beginner's and experienced rider's classes offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and have also taken a trike safety class. Jane and I took our first long ride on a 6000 mile tour from New Jersey to the Grand Tetons in 1993. We attended a Rider Rally in Cody, WY and the Sturgis Rally in SD on that same trip. Since then, we've attended many rallies including the Americade Rally in Lake George, NY every year since 1994. I have a bachelor's and a master's in electrical engineering and spent 35 years working for a prominent telephone research laboratory before retiring in 1996.

Brrr! But, sure looks fun. If we get snow like that in Texas it normally melts and refreezes into ice on the road.
