Piaggio Recalls Aprilia Scarabeo 200 for Windshield Problem

Piaggio has issued a recall of certain 2008-2009 Aprilia Scarabeo 200 motorcycles.

These motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 205 "glazing materials." The incorrect DOT standard equipment handlebar mounted windshield that was provided was installed. Both DOT and EURO specifications were sent for installation.

458 units are affected.

Check out my Motorcycle Recalls feature for more details.

I think I read this kind of article few days ago. but it was not confirmed. I think they should be careful about this kind of setbacks to their bikes. It might ruin their name.

Dennis,

This defect is on the official NHTSA Web site where I get all my motorcycle recalls. If it's wrong there, blame the United States government.
